Bird graduate, Madalena Alberto is an international leading lady, having most notably played the role of Eva Peron in the 2013 UK Tour of Evita. Madalena went on to perform the role in the West End for a strictly limited season in 2014 and received huge critical acclaim. Evita has become iconic, charting the story of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, from her humble beginnings through to the extraordinary wealth, power and iconic status which ultimately led her to be heralded as the ‘spiritual leader of the nation’.
Madalena’s early credits include Carmen in Fame, Hunyak in Chicago, Luisa in the West End premiere of Zorro The Musical and Fantine in the acclaimed 25th Anniversary production of Les Misérables. Her other roles include Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde, Sam in Over The Threshold, Sonia in Godspell, Maria in The Vote, Grizabella in Cats, Polly in Pollyanna, A Christmas Carol and Giulietta in Aspects of Love. Madalena is currently appearing as Gloria Fajardo in On Your Feet.
Madalena is also an established artist and songwriter, having released her solo album ‘Don’t Cry For Me’. In 2011, Madalena performed alongside Ricardo Afonso and Sofia Escobar at the Golden Globe Awards in Portugal and now regularly performs in London, Lisbon and Barcelona.
