Jonny Labey only graduated from Bird in 2014 but has already enjoyed significant success. Perhaps best-known for playing Paul Coker in EastEnders, Jonny joined the cast in 2015 as the grandson of Les and Pam Coker, who falls in love with Ben Mitchell. Poor Paul was later killed off in an homophobic attack, leaving the BBC soap in 2016.
In February 2017 Jonny and his girlfriend Chrissy Brooke became the first-ever champions of Dance Dance Dance – the Sunday night ITV show. The duo picked up a perfect score of 120 as judge Ashley Banjo told them they deserved every single point “and all the admiration and recognition” for their talents
Jonny has previously starred alongside actors Daniel Brocklebank, Suzanne Collins and Laura Ainsworth in Leon Lopez’s romcom film Soft Lad; In the Heights (by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda) and in the West End musical production of White Christmas at the Dominion Theatre, alongside Tom Chambers, Wendi Peters, Graham Cole, Rachel Stanley and Louise Bowden.
Jonny is originally from Jersey and graduated from Bird with a BA(Hons). Alongside his obvious acting talent he is also accomplished in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Commercial, Lindy Hop, Contemporary and Pas De Deux and boasts skills in gymnastics, stilt walking, tumbling, juggling, climbing, ice skating, karate, martial arts, rollerblading, rugby and guitar. Another typical Bird all-rounder and definitely a career to watch!
